I'm Andrii Diachkov, a name synonymous with a deep passion for volleyball and a relentless commitment to excellence. As the Boys Director at Austin Juniors Volleyball (AJV) and a coach with USA Volleyball’s National Team Development Program (NTDP), I bring a global perspective and elite-level experience to developing young athletes in the U.S.
My volleyball journey began at the age of ten and quickly evolved into a distinguished playing career. I earned a full scholarship to one of Ukraine's most prestigious universities, where I competed at the highest collegiate level. By my third year, I had signed my first professional contract, launching a 15-year international career that took me to top clubs in Italy, Greece, Russia, and France, as well as six years with the Ukrainian National Team.
At just 23, I was honored as the Best Outside Hitter in Ukraine, a recognition that reflected both my skill and dedication to the sport.
Throughout my professional journey, I was exposed to a wide range of coaching styles—some outstanding, others less so. These experiences fueled a self-driven pursuit of mastery, as I began analyzing my performance and coaching myself to maximize potential.
After retiring from professional play, I transitioned into coaching to give back to the sport that shaped my life. Now based in Austin, Texas, I lead and mentor athletes through AJV’s growing boys’ program while contributing to national-level talent development through my work with USA Volleyball.
With a keen understanding of player development across all levels, I’m committed to guiding the next generation of volleyball athletes toward success—on and off the court.
